Conditions of Hiring Items from the Scout Q Store

When you hire items from the Scout Q Store you may or may not be required to complete the following or a similar document prior to removing the items from the Scout Q Store. We encourage you to read and understand the following:

 

CONDITIONS OF HIRE                                 

  • All hirers agree to check all equipment before recreational use/holiday commences and are to notify Scout Q Store of any damage, missing any parts, or if the equipment is faulty or not functioning as it should be, otherwise upon return of equipment any damage will be deemed your responsibility and you will be held liable.
  • All hirers must agree to pay the item(s) security bond, where quoted to them, by credit card at time of collection. The security bond will be refunded to the hirer in 24 to 48 hrs after the equipment is returned unless loss or damagehas occurred in which case it will be held until costs are finalised and deducted from the bond. If damages exceed the bond amount extra charges may be deducted from the hirers credit card if the item deemed to be unrepairable
  • the full retail value of the item will be deducted If the hirer fails to notify Scout Q Store of any damage/loss to the equipment a surcharge fee will be payable to cover the costs incurred in replacing the item on top of the items recommended retail price
  • All hirers must agree  to pay 10% non refundable deposit to secure a booking with the balance due no later than 4 weeks prior to hire date, or we can not guarantee availability
  • All equipment must be returned clean and well maintained.  Cleaning of dirty equipment will be deducted from your security bond at a rate of $55 per hour.
  • Any loss or bent tent pegs, and loss or missing tent ropes will incur a $5 fee for each item missing/broken
  • All equipment must be re-packaged into original bag/carton as it was provided to you, otherwise additional fees will apply
  • All equipment must be returned on due date unless arranged during hire period ( subject to availability ) otherwise each individual day will be charged at double the 1 day rate (we must fulfil our other orders)
  • Scout Q Store will not be held responsible for any additional costs or inconvenience resulting from break down
  • of hire equipment, all efforts are made to make sure equipment is in a clean and well maintained condition
  • Scout Q Store will not be held responsible for loss or injury to a hirer or 3rd party and or their property due to the hire equipment
