Scout Q Store takes a Breath
The Scout Q Store has had a solid eighteen months of back to back Major Events. Cuboree at Gilwell, Kangaree at Lardner Park, Victorian Contingent to the Australian Scout Jamboree in Tailem Bend as well as the week to week support of Section Activiities. Phew!
How are we doing on the inside?
An overdue stocktake is underway. There has been an incredible increase in the volume of equipment held at the Q store. This is wonderful for our users.
How do we look to the outside world?
The Q Store is in an Industrial estate. It is easy to lose sight of the public perception of Scouts Victoria. Approximately 1000 vehicles pass the property daily. With this in mind the Q Store Team took a cold, objective look at itself. The Q Store at 173-175 Ordish Road, Dandenong South is looking shabby. Shipping containers strewn across the car-park, weeds along the fences, rapidly growing nature-strip and an increasingly invasive front hedge.
Presentation of Scout Property is Important
Our budget makeover included:
- Stacking of Shipping containers
- Bollards in place to safeguard trailer storage area
- Nature strip mowed by our volunteer mower lady
- Weeds pulled the old fashioned way
- Hedge revitalised and a serious trailer-load to the tip
And thus we are presentable again and ready to focus on supporting Scouting’s Section-Leaders and their Youth Programs
What can be do to help your Youth Program?
We hire Hiking Equipment, Camping Equipment and Event Gear.
